gym

posted by peanut butter sandwhich

We need to live in a gym. Sure it would be hard to keep warm in the Winter, but consider the advantages:

Plenty of living room space

convenient, modular furniture

but we make the best of what we have

and it is somewhat easier to keep it warm

juice

posted by peanut butter sandwhich

I woke up the other day and my brain-juice was a little bit lacking. Anyhow that's how it felt. I'd been staying up too late online and my brains had clearly dried from lack of sleep. I checked the cupboards for brain-juice, but had to settle for coffee.

As I was sitting attempting to substitute coffee for brain-juice, Fionn went to the kitchen to get some orange juice for himself; Fionn likes to freeze his orange juice, then he attacks it with a spoon like a starving icefisherman. Okay, maybe that's not entirely true, but at the time it felt like a cross between a woodpecker, a jackhammer, and the 1912 Overture.

Maybe that's what it sounds like when the Grapes of Wrath are being pressed into the GrapeJuice of Wrath.

It didn't help that the frozen cup of juice was on a low, wooden table with remarkable resonant qualites. Usually we enjoy its drumlike nature together. Sometimes we add other instruments for impromptu junk-jam sessions.

At this moment however, It was simply noise. Added to this was Jareth running around, exultant in his discovery of apple juice. He has just learned to say "apple juice" : he says: "appaCHOO! appaCHOO! APPACHOO!!!"

I never noticed before, but apple juice is apparently some kind of drug for toddlers because he really really really wanted more of the sweet amber liquid... I was beginning to wish I had a certain amber liquid in my coffee, and as the spoon struck the frozen juice on the drumlike wooden table the sound resonated across the floor into my feet and my body tensed like I was under attack.

I attempted to explain this to Fionn, but my lack of brain-juice was making the words like "resonant", "percussive" and "please" difficult to say; but on the third attempt my semi-coherent growling transformed into a short, sharp, somewhat half-orcish phrase. This persuaded him to move his juice-drilling activities to the ottomon. The wonderful, sound absorbing ottomon.

So then instead of the Grapejuice of Wrath, I sipped on the ... um ... Pearjuice of Peacefulness?

that's all ... thanks for reading my post :)

vacation

posted by peanut butter sandwhich

Okay so here is my first post. I woke up extra early so I could compose my thoughts. Jareth ("the bear"), responded by also waking up early and promptly dropping a huge poo. Then he wanted eggs. Two eggs. He always asks for two eggs. This is a dumb post.

Let us instead go on vacation. I've been on "vacation" for a couple of months now, that's the nature of my trade - you work yourself out of work. Then you get a nice long vacation with your kids.

Jareth and I went with Maisy and her friends to a tropical island and part of this ongoing vacation recently.

Tellulah brought sandwhiches.

It was a good vacation. I played guitar. My guitar playing was perfect and the sandwhiches were perfect and Jarbear didn't get a full-body sunburn.

Pretty soon now I'll be back to waking up at 4:30 am, coffee and getting dirty before they're even awake. I'm going to miss these mornings.

Jareth is driving a Hot Wheels car in his eggs.

I better go... thanks for reading my post :)

since this will never be read

This has become one of those things you build up in your head too much for so long that eventually you implode. and also never get it done.

I suppose I should be sharing a little about myself and what kind of a blog this is going to be,but i spent three hours last night just choosing a theme but I'm still pretty unsure about all that still. Beside, shouldn't there be a page somewhere here that says all that?

So i am smashing down the inner voices saying goodbye. goodbye to my whiny inner-self self-assigned pressure for a perfect first post. goodbye to fear of sounding like an idiot (at least this first time, I'm sure it will come back tomorrow).

Is it a bad sign to be saying goodbye in your first post?

No wait, I'm not going to start that again.

I think I will just attempt to get over my neurotic fear of an imperfect first post and just share some cute pictures of my kids.

Oh and so I'm including a really useful link, here you go.Launch ball game
